Midland Asbestos Company Fined

The HSE (Health and Safety Executive) regularly publishes  cases, proceedings and prosecutions on its website, and we were dismayed to discover a Midland Asbestos Company had been fined, we just want to reassure our readers, clients and customers, and our construction partners that the company was not SAFELINE ENVIRONMENTAL. The Midland Asbestos Company concerned with the fine was based in Birmingham, on January 17th they pleaded guilty to a breach of Regulation 16 Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, as they had failed to keep their employees safe from asbestos exposure. Amy Kalay, HSE Inspector in charge of the case said after the hearing-  “Exposure to asbestos fibres is extremely dangerous to people’s health and the company failed to adopt the safety measures that are required to prevent the risk to their employees and others.” The Midland Asbestos company was fined £16000 and associated costs by the court, an indication on how seriously the failure to comply with Regulation 16 Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 is considered by the HSE and the Courts. In closing, we want to assure our readers, potential customers, contractor partners and the public at large that Safeline Environmental operates to the highest standards and has a prestigious 3 year licence issued by the HSE (the longest licence issued by the Health and Safety Executive) and is very proud of our customer focused safety driven procedures and policies. If you have a contract with an existing Asbestos contractor and are worried about their procedures or would like a second opinion, please don't hesitate to contact Safeline Environmental.
